Who We Are
Innovative and sustainable water solutions come from sharing knowledge and best practices, bringing together divergent interests, and encouraging dialogue. Staff from OSLI companies work collaboratively in the Water Management Working Group to create a new, collaborative framework for OSLI oil sands companies to openly share water and environmental knowledge, research, technologies, and opportunities.
OSLI strives to…
Create a collaborative regional water management solution.
Improve the use and management of water sources.
Recycle tailings water.
Accelerate the development and commercialization of water treatment technologies.
Find game-changing steam generation technology.
Reduce the cost and environmental footprint of SAGD.
What We Do
As development moves forward, we want to have a net positive impact on regional water quality without environmental burden shifting (causing negative environmental impacts in other areas).
Work that had been initiated by the Water Management Working Group was transitioned over to Canada’s Oil Sands Innovation Alliance (COSIA) during 2012/2013 and continues within COSIA’s Water Environmental Priority Area (EPA).
